Why Are Regular Dental Checkups & Cleanings Important?

If you don’t usually schedule an appointment every six months, you might be wondering why routine visits are recommended. Well, there are a few reasons! To start, they allow your dentist to complete an oral cancer screening, assess the health of your teeth and gums, and examine the condition of any dental work that you have. They also allow our dental hygienists to perform a cleaning, which removes built-up plaque and tartar.

What to Expect During a Dental Checkup

We’re proud to have three exceptional dentists at our Frisco dental office: Dr. Karuna Peravali, Dr. Vidyadhari Yarlagadda, and Dr. Holvin Louie. During your checkup, they will spend some time getting to know you (or catching up with you, if you’re a long-time patient). Then, they will review your latest X-rays, complete a visual exam, and let you know if they see anything concerning. If that’s the case, they will also discuss your treatment options and help you decide the best way to proceed.
